Modern and stylish: Leonardo Hotels showcases extensive renovations
New interiors, modern technology, elegant spa areas: These freshly renovated Leonardo Hotels are real highlights
Berlin, 16. September 2024 - Leonardo Hotels is one of Germany’s fastest growing hotel groups. The company attaches just as much importance to the ongoing upkeep and improvement of its portfolio as it does to expansion. Several Leonardo Hotels in Central Europe now boast a resplendent new look following comprehensive renovation works and are ready to offer extraordinary experiences to business and leisure travellers alike.

The renowned interior designer Andreas Neudahm, who assumed overall responsibility for the redevelopment works, explained how he had addressed the task. “Our signature approach involves creating an inimitable look and feel for the various Leonardo Hotels brands. At the same time, our interior design reflects the local character of the setting and the particular features of the respective hotel.”
Frankfurt – more attractive accommodation, smarter conferencing
The Leonardo Royal Frankfurt is characterised by elegance and by its splendid views. Each one of the 449 rooms has its own balcony looking our over the Frankfurt skyline or the city forest. The rooms have been entirely redecorated in classical warm shades of cream and brown, and impressive and generously proportioned showers have been installed in the fully renovated bathrooms. The hotel’s public areas feature a fresh new appearance too. The lobby has been given a different look, whilst both cosy bars have been refitted. Conferencing facilities have also been updated. A redesigned gym area with natural daylight and state-of-the-art sports equipment is now available to those wishing to work out. The nearby Leonardo Frankfurt City South is also set to take comfort to the next level. By the end of September 2024, its inviting rooms will have received a makeover and a new colour scheme.
Baden-Baden – spa facilities across two floors
Spa lovers will find plenty to enjoy at the Leonardo Royal Baden-Baden. The plan is for the hotel to undergo renovation works which will transform it into a chic wellness retreat this autumn. The spa area is undergoing a complete overhaul which also involves adding a whole extra storey. A redesigned heatable indoor pool, various saunas and steam baths and several treatment rooms will all be available for use by guests. Large relaxation zones with indirect and warm lighting and sand-coloured loungers will create a relaxing atmosphere. The hotel rooms will also be repainted in warm shades of wood to reflect the health and beauty motif. There will also be a facelift and new conferencing technology for the meeting rooms. This will provide the perfect combination between a concentrated work environment and soothing relaxation.
Mannheim – the elegance of the 1920s
Changes are underway at the Leonardo Royal Mannheim. From January 2025, it will operate under the name of Hotel Mannheimer Hof - Leonardo Limited Edition as it becomes the second hotel in Germany to join this exclusive brand. To this end, an extensive programme of modernisation has been ongoing since July 2024 to restore the splendour of former times. The hotel’s 192 rooms and suites and its bathrooms are being tastefully redesigned in elegant shades of gold, blue and nougat-brown. The elegant new design of the hotel’s public areas will be highly reminiscent of the glories of the 1920s. The restaurant and bar will also hark back to the style of the Roaring Twenties. Both the sauna and fitness areas will be enlarged as part of the works in order to offer the ideal opportunity to unwind and exercise. An update to the idyllic inner courtyard will be completed by the summer of 2025. The hotel’s nine light-flooded conference rooms will be given a full renovation including new conferencing equipment.
Upgrades in Hanover, Düsseldorf and Cologne
The Leonardo Hannover is located next to the city’s highly attractive “Zoological Park”. Many of the 178 stylish rooms and suites have their own balcony looking out into nature. Some have been undergoing renovations since September 2024. An elegant colour concept in beige and grey and wood-look flooring have been introduced. The new bathrooms will be equipped with high-end shower trays and marble-effect tiles. Newly designed rooms are also about to catch the eye at the Leonardo Royal Düsseldorf Königsallee, the perfect starting point for sightseeing and shopping trips. Just under thirty rooms will be fully refurbished by the end of 2024. A soft renovation will take place in most cases. High-end renovation works in a contemporary style will be carried out in all bathrooms, including installation of rainfall showers. The Leonardo Royal Köln – Am Stadtwald has a conferencing area which extends over two floors. This will be updated, and a modern sound system will be added.
Warsaw – elegance and breathtaking views
Complex architectural works have taken place to link the Leonardo Royal Warsaw to neighbouring former offices located in a wing of the skyscraper which already houses the existing hotel. A former office block has now been transformed into an elegant hotel building. This has created 184 additional rooms and will make the hotel one of the major players in the Polish capital. The new rooms have been given an elegant look in shades of beige, grey and wood. Renovation works to the 178 rooms in the original part of the hotel are scheduled to be completed by 2025. These rooms are located on the upper storeys of the JM Tower, one of Warsaw’s tallest skyscrapers, and they offer spectacular vistas of the centre of the capital. The public and conference areas have been designed to be generously proportioned, bright and flooded with light. They underscore the character of the hotel. The entrance area has been laid out in accordance with the open lobby concept. A completely new restaurant and bar area featuring light hues of ivory and copper will provide a highly inviting space from the third quarter of 2024. A combination of parquet and stone flooring will emphasise the focus on long-life and sustainable materials. Show cooking will be on display at the hotel’s brand new à la carte restaurant. A breakfast area and the stylish lobby bar will complete the picture.
Lazise – Italian lifestyle on Lake Garda
The freshly renovated Leonardo Lago di Garda – Wellness and Spa offers the beauty of Lake Garda combined with the comfort of a health and beauty hotel. It boasts 127 stylishly furnished rooms and suites, some of which have their own whirlpool. The hotel’s colour scheme, which contrasts warm shades of cream and mustard with hints of anthracite, continues through the elegant newly renovated lounge and lobby and into the restaurant. Three renovated and well-equipped conference and events rooms with natural daylight are available to business travellers. An indirectly lit 2,000 square metre wellness and fitness area featuring an organic sauna, a circular haman, an outdoor jacuzzi and three pools means that the focus is very much on relaxation. The feel-good factor is underscored by a wide range of wellness, massage and beauty treatments.
Rome – an NYX Hotel for the Eternal City
The NYX Hotel Roma by Leonardo Hotels, located in the centre of the city and featuring a unique art and design concept, is expected to open in early 2025. This will be the Leonardo Group’s second hotel in Rome. It is currently undergoing a full renovation, during which an ultramodern façade with a large glass frontage will be added. The interior design of the NYX Hotel Roma is also sure to deliver a wow effect. Like at all NYX Hotels, an individual art concept is being realised together with local artists. The hotel will offer around 300 stylish rooms inspired by the look of the 1970s. Concise patterns and colourful furniture will be in evidence. The bathrooms will offer walk-in showers, bidets and striking murals. The intention is for the restaurant and bar to act as the centrepiece of the new NYX Roma by serving as a venue for numerous lifestyle events and as a gathering place for guests and city inhabitants. A spa and gym area and a peaceful inner courtyard will bring the promise of relaxation. A conference area with three meeting rooms accommodating up to 100 persons will be available for events.
Berlin – a capital city lifestyle
The Hotel Berlin Köpenick by Leonardo Hotels will be converted into a stylish NYX Hotel from the start of 2025. NYX Hotels are Leonardo’s lifestyle brand. They exude urban charm and cool chic and are home to an extraordinary artistic concept which reflects the local spirit across all areas. The hotel offers 190 rooms, a spacious open lobby complete with bar and restaurant and a fitness area with a sauna. It also boasts generously proportioned conferencing facilities which extend over a total of 900 square metres and also include an attractive external area right on the bank of the River Dahme for breakout sessions or outdoor receptions.
